Inside Success TV featured me this week on Legacy Makers TV, the cinematic docu-series hosted by Rudy Mawer. The feature, titled "Effort Without Architecture," captures the operating philosophy that took Capital City Roofing from startup to a multimillion-dollar run rate in under two years.

Effort Without Architecture Is Just Exhaustion
"Effort without architecture is just exhaustion." That is the line that frames the entire Legacy Makers TV segment, and it is the operating philosophy I have built Capital City Roofing on for over a decade.
After more than ten years watching contractors struggle under the weight of growth, I decided the industry does not need more hustle. It needs a system. Capital City Roofing runs on architecture, automation, and accountability, with AI embedded across its workflows and a vision to make ordering a roof as simple as using an app.
The System Behind the Scale
The feature documents how Capital City Roofing reached a multimillion-dollar run rate in under two years. But speed is only part of the story. Behind the technology is a harder standard:
- Show up for your people. The operating system protects the team from chaos.
- Have the difficult conversations. Accountability structures (EOS, Level 10s, scorecards) mean the founder does not have to be the only one enforcing standards.
- Protect the customer experience. Documented workflows from inspection to install mean every homeowner gets the same quality, every time.
- Build a company strong enough that the people inside it can win. The goal is not a business that depends on the founder. It is a business that creates careers.
Technology as the Enforcement Layer
The architecture is enforced by BuilderLync, the AI-driven CRM and operating platform I co-founded. BuilderLync was built inside an operating roofing company by people who had to live with what they shipped. It handles lead intake, automated follow-up, proposal generation, dispatching, crew scheduling, bookkeeping, and performance analytics in one platform. Every Capital City Roofing licensee inherits this same tech stack on day one.

The Mission That Funds the Business
Through the Feeding the Future Project, roofing revenue helps provide meals for children facing food insecurity. The target is one million children in ten years. Every roof Capital City Roofing installs moves that number forward.

Why This Matters for the Trades
The real disruption is not just making roofing faster or smarter. It is changing what people believe the trades can become: innovative, disciplined, ethical, and worth building a life around. That is the legacy I am chasing.
